The Vinall surname in historical dictionaries
Patronymica Britannica (1860)
VINALL. Fynagh, Fynhawe, and Vynagh, are ancient modes of spelling the name of the estate now called Vine-Hall, in the parish of Watliugton, co. Sussex, which was possessed by the family in the XIV. cent. That estate gave name to the Vynehalls, afterwards of Kingston, near Lewes, who, as Vinalls, in 1657, obtained a grant of arms. Harl. MS, 1144. Sussex Arch. Coll. ix. 75.
