In Capgrave's Chronicle, under the year 1381, Ave read: "In this yere, in the month of May, the Comones risen ageyn the King .... Her dvl;e Avas Wat Tyler, a proud knave and malapert." 2. Camden makes it a nickname of Marmaduke.
